Meghan Markle’s Half-Sister Has This To Say About Duchess’ First Pregnancy
Meghan Markle’s half-sister, Samantha Markle, recently released a statement regarding the Duchess of Sussex’s first pregnancy.
Two days after the palace’s official announcement, Samantha told The Sun that she is happy for Markle and Prince Harry. She also said that the baby news just changed everything that happened to them and their family in the past year.
“A baby changes everything and softens everyone,” she said (via E! News).
A source also told the publication that Markle’s dad, Thomas Markle Sr., wants to be a part of his grandchild’s life.
“Thomas sees this as a chance to fix the problems between him, Meghan, and Harry,” the source said.
Markle and her dad’s side of the family haven’t been on good terms ever since her engagement to Prince Harry last year. Thomas was initially invited to the royal wedding and was asked to walk the former actress down the aisle. However, he posed in a series of fake photos following Samantha’s advice.
After news about the fake photographs blew up, Thomas revealed that he suffered from a heart attack and underwent surgery. As such, he was unable to attend the royal wedding on May 19. It was Prince Charles that walked Markle down the aisle on her special day.
In the months after the wedding, Thomas and Samantha have spoken negatively about Prince Harry and the royal family. In a recent Twitter rant, Samantha claimed that her half-sister ghosted both sides of her family ever since she became a royal herself.
“You can’t crap on an entire family and then run around crying that you cannot trust everyone. The world does not know that our dad raised her most of the time without the input of her mother especially from age 12 through high school and he gave her everything she had and is,” she wrote (via Express).
Samantha also recently went to London to try and speak to Markle but was unable to do so. She left a handwritten letter to a palace security in the hopes that Markle will read the note.
