Meghan Markle's Hat For Christmas Service Debut Criticized; A Fashion Faux Pas?

Meghan Markle's hat during the royal Christmas service has drawn some negative attention.

Prince Harry's fiancée joined him and the rest of the British royal family during their traditional morning Christmas service. And while most netizens do agree that Markle mostly looked fashionable during the outing, one accessory seemed to ruin her look that day: her hat. In fact, Helen Weathers of Daily Mail considered Markle's hat a "fashion faux pas."

Social media users also took to Twitter to criticize and joke about Markle's headwear. One user felt that it was the "ugliest hat" she has ever seen.

"Did Princess Beatrice tell Meghan where to buy a hat? #Badhatday #MeghanAndHarry #MeghanMarkle," Donna McEditor wrote.

McEditor said she believes that Markle received a number of suggestions for her outfit and perhaps she did not want to offend the person who recommended the hat. Another user commented that it was a bad hat day for the "Horrible Bosses" star.

"Not loving Meghan's hat...the first thing I though of was a mushroom cap," Sophia wrote, along with a laughing emoji.

While others did not like Markle's hat, some found it interesting and appetizing, even comparing it to chocolate.

"Is Meghan Markle's hat sponsored by Thornton's chocs?" one commented on Markle's accessor (via Daily Mail).

Meanwhile, aside from comparing it to chocolate, some took it further and likened it to a rude emoji due to its color, shape and design. One user confessed that she's a huge fan of Markle, but the actress' hat looked strange to her and she was not pleased with it.

"Is Meghan Markle's hat the [expletive] emoji as rendered by Picasso?" Jay posted.

While others disapprove of Markle's hat, there were also fans who believed that Prince Harry's fiancée looked fashionable wearing it. In fact, they think that she looked perfect in her ensemble.

"I especially love Meghan Markle's hat," one social media user wrote (via Daily Mail). "Meghan Markle's Christmas hat is the only Christmas speech we need," another one added.

Another person felt that Markle's hat is the only thing worth wishing a Merry Christmas.
