Meghan Markle’s Mother Will Not Be ‘Live-In Nanny’ For Royal Baby
Meghan Markle’s mother is welcome to stop by Frogmore Cottage, but she won’t be living there. Royal sources are refuting reports that Doria Ragland will move in with her daughter and Prince Harry to care for the royal baby.
According to People, sources are stated that “Doria may have rooms set aside for her in the cottage,” but Meghan’s mom will continue to reside in California. Meanwhile, Harry and Meghan are moving out of their two-bedroom apartment and moving into the much larger Frogmore Cottage at Windsor.
The report follows the Daily Mail’s weekend news that the Duchess of Sussex wants her mother to be a “live-in nanny” and wants to give Doria her own wing. Expect the social worker to spend plenty of time with Harry and Meghan after the royal baby arrives in spring, but she won’t be taking care of the child full-time.
Meghan, who announced her pregnancy last month, will likely have a professional nanny helping her with the baby. Prince William and Kate Middleton have Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo help look after their three kids. However, if Meghan follows Kate’s lead, it might be a little while before a nanny is hired. Borallo didn’t start helping with Prince George until he was eight months old.
Still, Carole Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge’s mother, has been a hands-on grandmother. After Prince Louis was born, the grandma stepped in to help take care of Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
“She’s been popping in and out of Kensington Palace, helping with George and Charlotte. Kate already has nanny Maria who is fantastic, but Carole’s been an amazing second pair of hands,” a source told The Sun in April.
Royal watchers will have to wait and see if Doria follows Carole’s lead. Meghan is expected to give birth in the spring.
