Meghan Markle’s Pregnancy Has Surprising Link To Prince Charles And Princess Diana’s Divorce
It’s been rumored that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are planning on hiring a doula to help them through the final stages of pregnancy and the birth of their first child. Now, with speculation on the identity of the person hired for the job growing, it appears the pair have chosen someone who has a surprising link to Prince Harry’s past.
According to “Royals” podcaster Angela Mollard, the person who Markle has chosen for her doula actually has a link to Princess Diana and Prince Charles’ divorce.
“The doula she’s chosen is actually Lauren Mishcon, who is married to Oliver Mishcon,” Mollard said. “Interestingly, his grandfather was the lawyer—very memorable because it was a very toxic divorce—who acted for Diana in her divorce from Prince Charles.”
According to Mollard, Mishcon hinted she was the Doula hired when she was asked on a Doula UK online forum if she would be helping the Duchess of Sussex and responded by stating that she was “busy” in the Spring and couldn’t say.
Though the decision to hire a doula does break with royal tradition, the Duchess of Sussex hasn’t been overly criticized for the choice, with another doula explaining that the services that are provided could be beneficial to the Duke and Duchess leading up to their baby’s birth.
“Doulas are experienced lay people, taking on a non-medical role and often getting to know a family over many months,” Rebecca Schiller said. “The work is intense and rewarding: from helping a woman plan her second birth after previous trauma, to answering a tearful and exhausted parent’s call at 3 a.m.”
