Meghan Markle’s Sister Pleads With Duchess To Do This During Holiday Season
Meghan Markle’s half-sister, Samantha Markle, recently pleaded with the Duchess of Sussex to end her rift with their dad, Thomas Markle Sr.
After criticizing Markle and Prince Harry’s Christmas card photo on Twitter, Samantha penned a handwritten Christmas card for the royal couple. She uploaded a photo of the Christmas card via Daily Mail.
Samantha started her letter by telling her half-sister that the note is not meant to be formal. She also reminded the “Suits” alum of the true meaning of the holiday season. Samantha, who claimed that she is writing a book about Prince Harry’s wife also said that their dad has been contacting Markle, but she has been avoiding him.
“Life is short and you know dad is wonderful. Please give him joy in his last years by showing that you love him,” she wrote.
Samantha ended her Christmas card by telling Markle that the time to patch things up is now. She also encouraged that Duchess of Sussex to think about the everything that has been going on with their family.
Earlier this month, Thomas sat down for an interview on “Good Morning Britain” and said that he sends his daughter text messages every day, but has never received any reply.
The 74-year-old also urged Markle to resolve their issues by talking to him. He said that everyone advised him to be quiet because this could be the only way for Markle to speak to him. However, nothing has changed.
“I love my daughter very much, she has to know that. I would really appreciate if she would call me, reach out to me somehow, send me a text, just say you’re there and you’re hearing me,” he said.
Markle has not spoken to her dad since before her May 19 wedding to Prince Harry. Thomas was initially invited to the royal event, but he was unable to make it due to his heart attack. The former lighting director had to undergo surgery weeks before Markle’s nuptials.
The Duchess of Sussex has not also spoken to her half-siblings, and she also didn’t invite them to her wedding.
