Meghan Markle’s sister Samantha Markle-Grant has fired back at Sharon Osbourne after the host said that Thomas Markle Sr. has a bad drinking problem.

Following Osbourne’s statement, Samantha told Express, “My father does not have a drinking problem. He was buying alcohol for the guard gate where he lives.”

During her appearance on “The Talk,” Osbourne said, “It is so obvious that you have a bad drinking problem. And it’s obvious that over the last few years, you haven’t been close with your daughter. Get yourself clean and sober and then come back. Just be happy for your daughter. Let her live her life. She is so dignified. You should try to give a little bit of that dignity for her.”

Osbourne also said that she thinks Markle feels so humiliated and embarrassed by her own father.

A source close to the Duchess of Sussex’s dad said that Thomas was hurt after hearing Osbourne’s comments.

“He’s shocked about these claims. It’s totally untrue and he’s been through enough with his recent health issues without people making these sorts of allegations. He’s livid. Utterly furious. Sharon Osbourne doesn’t know him at all," the source said.

However, one of Markle’s friends said that there is no truth to Thomas undergoing heart surgery around the time of his daughter and Prince Harry’s royal wedding.

“The whole story about Meghan’s father undergoing heart surgery was made up. He had to come up with a good enough reason not to attend her wedding and avoid any further embarrassment after those staged photos went public,” the source told Karen Ruiz of the Daily Mail.

Just days after Thomas’ alleged surgery, the former lighting director was spotted buying food from KFC and McDonald’s. Some royal fans noted that he shouldn’t be eating fast food following a heart attack. This week, he was once again photographed with a bag of McDonald’s takeout on hand.

Thomas celebrated his 74th birthday in Los Angeles by himself. He was also pictured buying some electronics at Best Buy on the same day.
