Meghan McCain could be the newest co-host of "The View."

McCain will reportedly join the daytime talk show after Jedediah Bila's departure. A source confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that the former Fox News contributor is replacing Bila. She will join Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Paula Faris and Sunny Hostin in early October.

McCain, 32, describes herself as a Republican with liberal views on social issues, so a potential face-off between her and Goldberg is possible. The latter said in May that she is staying on the show "for as long as I need to be."

"This new administration's so inept, [it] makes it hard to walk away," Goldberg said. "But, you know, the women are good and the table is settled and, you know, it'll be fine. It'll all be fine."

Jedediah Bila shocked "The View" audience when she announced her departure from the show earlier this month. Her exit was a surprise as she has signed on for the entire season.

"So this is my last day at 'The View,'" she said in her last episode. "I want to thank these ladies. What you don't know about us is that we're really friends...I want to thank you because I'm a little eccentric, and you put up with me, and this has been an amazing journey. And I appreciate all of you."

According to Page Six, Bila's sudden exit may have had something to do with her interview with former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. The co-host asked Clinton tough questions regarding the reaction to her book, "What Happened."

An insider claimed that the staff was upset over the interview and that they felt that it was not handled well. "They had a lot to say to Jedediah about calming things down," the source said.

However, ABC denied the rumors that Bila's interview with Clinton had something to do with her exit from the show. In fact, they were impressed with her questions. The network also denied that they removed the conservative co-host from her position.

"Her departure had nothing to do with the Hillary Clinton interview. Jedediah asked good questions during that interview, and the producers were pleased with how she handled it," ABC spokeswoman told Fox News.
