KEY POINTS

  • Melania Trump outdid herself with this year's Christmas decorations.
  • The FLOTUS broke a Christmas record this year.
  • This year's Christmas decors at the White House honored the FLOTUS' "Be Best" campaign.

Melania Trump recently broke a Christmas record at the White House, and she also outdid herself this year.

According to Express, the first lady installed 58 Christmas trees for the holidays this year. Her previous record was just 41 Christmas trees. The long-standing tradition reportedly started with Dwight D. Eisenhower’s administration when he installed 26 Christmas trees at the White House.

This year’s theme is “The Spirit of America,” while last year’s theme was “American Treasures.” In 2018, the White House was adorned with 14,000 red ornaments and 29 trees that symbolized bravery and valor.

“The Spirit of America,” on the other hand, symbolizes patriotism. In a nod to the FLOTUS’ campaign, scrabble-themed ornaments spelled out “Be Best” at the White House.

Before launching the design and theme, President Donald Trump’s wife also gave fans an update about the Christmas trees that she will use.

“The @WhiteHouse #ChristmasTree2019 has been delivered, and we look forward to appreciating the peace and joy it signifies all throughout the holiday season! Thank you to Snyder Family who brought us this tree, all the way from Pitman, PA,” she tweeted.

Meanwhile, the first lady received a slew of mixed reactions from fans after she shared a video of herself walking in front of the Christmas trees. Some of them said that the FLOTUS shouldn’t talk about the spirit of Christmas because the holidays are all about the family.

Unfortunately, President Trump and Barron Trump were not featured in Melania’s video and photos.

But the supporters of Trump commented on how beautiful she looked in the clip. Melania wore an all-white ensemble for the video.

“Always a beautiful exhibit for all the American people and the world to see and enjoy. Thank you our lovely FLOTUS,” Twitter user @Lrihendry said.

“Still gorgeous, beautifully done. Thank you,” Twitter user @favored_D wrote.

“You are second to none. You are the most beautiful first lady we have ever had,” Twitter user @renee_miller said.
