  • Melania Trump is focused on being a wife and mother
  • Melania Trump mischaracterized by the press
  • Melania Trump is very confident of her husband's leadership

Melania Trump is focused on being a wife and a mother amid the political harassment she has received.

Days before Christmas, the first family was plagued with the POTUS’ impeachment. President Donald Trump even shared his rage-infused letter to Nancy Pelosi to the members of the senate along with their Christmas cards.

The president attacked the House speaker for the “great damage and hurt” the impeachment process has “inflicted upon wonderful and loving members of my family.” Despite the issue, Melania’s spokesperson Stephanie Grisham revealed that the FLOTUS is strong and she is not wounded.

“As always, Mrs. Trump is focused on being a mother and wife, and is busy serving our great nation,” Grisham told The Associated Press. “She is very strong, and after many years now, has become used to political harassment.”

Melania didn’t follow the former first ladies Hillary Clinton and Pat Nixon’s move who stuck at their husbands’ side when they were facing the impeachment process. Hillary spent the morning of impeachment on Capitol Hill with the rallying Democrats to her husband’s side despite his unfaithfulness. Pat also assured reporters that her husband won’t quit, but he resigned.

On the other hand, Melania kept her distance but she is also not hiding. In fact, during Donald’s impeachment, she was in Capitol Hill marking the anniversary of legislation her husband signed to tackle opioid abuse. The FLOTUS’ reaction could be due to her confidence in her husband’s leadership.

In the past interviews, Melania has nothing but praises to Donald even before he became the president. Twenty years ago, Melania said that her then-boyfriend was “very smart.” She also described Donald as a “great leader.” In a different interview in 2016 when Donald was still running for president, Melania was still very confident with his leadership skills.

“He is a great leader—the best leader, an amazing negotiator,” Melania said of Donald.

“America needs that, and he believes in America. He believes in its potential and what it can be, because it is now in big trouble. I don't want to go into it. I just believe he has what it takes to be an amazing president.”

Meanwhile, the FLOTUS also knew that she has been mischaracterized by the press. According to Melania, she is not shy and she is also aware that there are many reports about her and some don’t check facts. She added that the media can turn around stories and they can be unfair, too.
