Melania Trump has her own share of controversies and this could have added to her popularity.

On Wednesday, Gallup released the results of their poll for the most admired man and woman in 2017. Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton dominated the top spot with 17 percent and 9 percent votes, respectively. Meanwhile, Donald Trump and Michelle Obama are in the second spot with 14 percent and 7 percent votes, respectively.

According to Newsweek, for the most admired woman, the poll asked 1,049 respondents: "What woman that you have heard or read about, living today in any part of the world, do you admire most? And who is your second choice?"

Trump, Kate Middleton and Beyoncé were at the bottom with 1 percent votes. However, the first lady of the United States proved to be more popular that the Duchess of Cambridge and the "Lemonade" singer.

According to the publication, a more detailed data from Gallup tied Trump with former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice in the seventh spot. Meanwhile, Beyoncé and Middleton tied and were listed at the 10th spot. This suggested that Trump has few more votes than Middleton and Beyoncé.

Just recently, Melania and Donald were under fire for their "official 2017 Christmas portrait." The FLOTUS shared a photo them together and received a lot of compliment with her looks. However, many noticed the absence of their son, Barron Trump, in the portrait.

A number of followers believed that Barron should be standing with the first couple in their Christmas portrait. After all, he is Donald's only son with Melania. One user compared Trump's photo to the Obama's in 2016.

"That's funny. But the real shame is that the official Trump Christmas portrait doesn't include their son, the way the Obamas included their daughters," Hamilton Electors posted.

Also, in May, many were not happy after seeing Melania in a $51,500 Dolce & Gabbana floral coat with multicolored silk flowers when she visited Sicily. Her expensive coat contrasted Donald's health-care bill "which is estimated to strip 23 million people of their medical insurance by 2026: The lady wears Dolce while the middle class implodes," The Washington Post reported.

"Shows no concern for people she represents. Blatant elitism and materialism is what she represents," one user commented in this photo of Melania wearing the costly coat.
