Melania Trump Refused To Do What She Was Told After ‘Access Hollywood’ Tape Leaked

Melania Trump showed her strength and control over her husband Donald Trump after his controversial “Access Hollywood” tape leaked.

CBS News released an excerpt from Mary Jordan’s new book “The Art of Her Deal: The Untold Story of Melania Trump.” According to the publication, Melania didn’t listen to the suggestions on what she should do after the POTUS’ “Access Hollywood” tape was publicized.

In the tape, Trump was having an extremely lewd conversation with Billy Bush about women. When it went public, many felt bad for Trump’s wife. Several women also took offense at the president’s statement.

Trump’s aides advised Melania to make a joint TV appearance with her husband. Melania and Ivanka Trump were also encouraged to defend Trump and speak about how he really respects women. Melania joined the strategy session and turned down the suggestions by saying “No.”

“She said she would decide on her own what to do. And right now she was not going on television with her husband,” Jordan wrote.

Melania saw the nonstop TV coverage about the issue. Many expressed their sympathy with the FLOTUS. They said they were sorry for her.

According to Jordan, Melania is not fragile, but someone who is strong and in control.

“I am putting out a statement. I am not going to sit here and pretend that I don't have an opinion. I have an opinion and people need to know my opinion,” Melania said.

The following day, Melania, her campaign manager Kellyanne Conway and more gathered in the penthouse kitchen where the FLOTUS told them what she wanted to say. Trump didn’t stop his wife and only said he wanted to read her statement before it went out.

Trump understood that the scandal also put Melania in an embarrassing position. He also knew that his wife was not the type who was going to just sit there and take it.

“The words my husband used are unacceptable and offensive to me. This does not represent the man that I know. He has the heart and mind of a leader. I hope people will accept his apology, as I have, and focus on the important issues facing our nation and the world,” Melania’s message read.

Trump was relieved because he knew that if Melania reacted in any other way, things could have been worse.

The book also claims that Melania is very influential in the White House. Trump listens to her and tends to agree with her suggestions.
