Melissa Gilbert sustained a head injury on the set of Dancing With the Stars on Monday night and was rushed to the hospital.

If you're wondering why Melissa and Maks are not here, she injured herself and as a precaution, has gone to the hospital to get it checked out, host Tom Bergeron told the audience, referring to her professional dance partner, Maksim Chmerkovskiy.

She hit her head during her dance, and then after she felt a little dizzy so they took her to the hospital just to get checked out and make sure she was okay, fellow contestant, Sherri Shepherd, said. I think she'll be all right, though.

Gilbert later tweeted her diagnosis from the hospital.

I'm alright, she tweeted after being taken to the hospital. Mild concussion and whiplash. Very soon I will be safely home resting and being taken care of.

Dancing With the Stars is a strenuous show, and Gilbert joins several past competitors who've been injured on the show.
