Mercosur May Slap Sanctions On Paraguay For President?s Impeachment
Foreign ministers from the Mercosur trading bloc of South America are considering taking action against Paraguay following the sudden and questionable impeachment of former president of that nation, Fernando Lugo
Lugo, the first left-wing leader of Paraguay, was deposed and replaced by vice president Federico Franco in what some regional leaders are calling a coup.
Mercosur may decide to impose economic sanctions on Paraguay and suspend its membership in the bloc.
The presidents of Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay are also expected to attend the summit In Buenos Aires.
