Though the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Annual Costume Institute Gala is an exclusive invitation-only event for Hollywood’s A-list set, that doesn’t mean members of the public don’t have a chance to at least get a look at some of the fun thanks to both televised coverage and an online live stream of the red carpet.

The Red Carpet is perhaps the biggest part of the annual event since it’s where fans and other guests alike get their first glimpse of the over-the-top ensembles and costumes that celebrities don to go with the year’s theme. Thankfully, while the average member of the public may not be able to go inside the gala without an invite, they can still get a glimpse at those looks thanks to endless options of coverage.

Fans who want to get a look at the action as the “Camp: Notes on Fashion” event gets underway will be in luck. According to The Met’s Twitter account, sneak peeks of the event and live coverage from the Red Carpet will be available on that platform. The Museum itself began offering a look there, as well as on Periscope, back in 2015.

Anyone who prefers to keep up with the Gala on television will also be in luck, as E! Is once again covering the festivities in full, beginning at 5 p.m. Eastern/2 p.m. Pacific. The network will begin their “Live From the Red Carpet: The 2019 Met Gala Special” at that time and will allow fashion fans to see the celebrity arrivals. They are also expected to have a live stream online and through their Facebook and Twitter accounts as well. Coverage will see famous faces from the network commenting on the fashion, including Giuliana Rancic, Brad Goreski, Zanna Roberts Rassi and Elaine Welteroth.

In addition, Vogue themselves will also be featuring a live stream on their Facebook page.

This year’s event could see some of the most elaborate costumes in a while considering the theme. Other previous events which inspired some interesting fashion choices included 2016’s “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology,” 2017’s “Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garcons” event and 2018’s “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion And the Catholic Imagination.”

The event will once again be hosted by Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, and she will be joined by Lady Gaga, Harry Styles and Serena Williams as her co-directors.
