Microsoft Lumia 550 Running Windows 10 Mobile To Be Made Available For Just $139 In US
Microsoft's wallet-friendly Lumia 550 with Windows 10 Mobile on board is now available for purchase in Europe and the U.K. The U.S., on the other hand, will follow suit in the coming weeks, according to Windows Blog.
Speaking of price, GSM Arena said that the Lumia 550 will apparently set the buyers back by 139 euros in Europe and 89.99 pounds in the U.K. The price specific to the U.S. is $139. Similar to its predecessor, this device can also be availed in a slew of vivid colors. Also, it is worth noting that it comes with a detachable polycarbonate back panel.
As far as the specifications go, the Lumia 550 features a pocket-friendly 4.7-inch LCD display, packed with a good-enough 720 x 1,280 pixels screen resolution. Under the hood, the handset comes powered by a quad-core (Qualcomm Snapdragon 210) SoC, running at 1.2 GHz and backed by a modest 1 GB of RAM.
When it comes to camera configuration, the smartphone sports a 5-megapixel rear-facing sensor with LED flash, in addition to a 2-megapixel front-facing shooter for selfies. The device comes equipped with 8 GB of built-in storage space, along with a microSD card slot for further expansion.
Even though, it is an entry level device, Microsoft has ensured support for 4G LTE, in addition to standard connectivity options like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. According to reports, this handset will be made available as both single SIM and dual SIM versions at some point. The budget-friendly device is 9.9 mm thick and the entire configuration is backed by a modest 2,100 mAh battery unit.
Interested buyers in the U.K and Europe can purchase the device from Amazon UK and Amazon DE, respectively. In the case of the U.S., as of today, Amazon has listed back covers for the Microsoft Lumia 550. As mentioned above, the device will be listed in the coming weeks.
