Microsoft Lumia 850 rumors: Leaked Colorful Cases Reveal Handset’s Exterior Design

The Microsoft Lumia 850 is back in news with a leaked set of protective cases. The photos show the elegant handset wrapped in green, blue and black cases.

According to past rumors, the Lumia 850 will feature a metal frame running through the corners of the handset. However, the leaked photos of cases mask the sides of the phone and hence, the frame is hidden. But the overall exterior design matches the renders leaked earlier. Plus, it’s crystal clear from the photos that the upcoming device will have well-rounded corners.

The photos also show bigger bottom bezel and Gizmo China said that this area could be designated for the synonymous capacitive keys. The top of the screen features the company name. At the back of the Lumia 850, a huge center-mounted primary camera with a LED flash has been positioned. Towards the lower left side of the rear shell, a speaker grill can be seen.

As far as the Lumia 850 release date goes, it was initially rumored that the handset will be introduced by 2015 end. But now, it’s safe to assume that the device will see the light of the day sometime in the first quarter of next year.

According to GSM Arena, the handset is believed to carry a 5.0-inch display, aided by 1,280 x 768 pixels screen resolution. Under the hood, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 410 chipset will reportedly power the handset and it will be backed by a modest 1 GB of RAM. On the software end, as expected, Windows 10 Mobile will run the phone, straight out of the box.

When it comes to camera specification, the Lumia 850 will apparently sport a 10-megapixel rear-facing sensor with Zeiss lens and LED flash. The device is expected to come equipped with 16 GB of native storage space with microSD card slot for further expansion. The entire configuration will be powered by a modest 2,650 mAh battery unit.
