Microsoft Lumia 950 Price Slashed For Holiday Sales
Microsoft Lumia 950 and 950 XL flagship smartphones were announced by the company in October this year. Apart from AT&T, no other U.S. carrier is selling the newly released Lumia flagship smartphone. Moreover, the carrier is only selling the Lumia 950 and not the 950 XL smartphone. For the holiday season, the price of the AT&T Lumia 950 has been slashed by $49. It is now available for $549.
The AT&T Lumia 950 is an unlocked smartphone that is usually available with a price tag of $589 through Microsoft Store. However, after the price cut, it is now selling for $549. The last date of the promotional offer is not known. However, since there is short supply of Lumia 950, the offer is expected to continue until the stock lasts, WM Power User reported. To avail the smartphone at discounted price, buyers will have to make a full payment of $549 while purchasing it.
Apart from the Lumia 950, 950 XL and Lumia 550, no other smartphone offer out of the box Windows 10 Mobile OS experience. All the other Lumia smartphones are currently on Windows Phone 8.1 OS. The official roll out of Windows 10 Mobile OTA upgrade for smartphones running on Windows Phone 8.1 OS has been pushed to early 2016.
Microsoft is rumored to be working on successor versions for its older smartphones like Lumia 640, Lumia 730 and Lumia 830. Purported successor smartphones such as Lumia 650, Lumia 750 and Lumia 850 are expected to arrive preinstalled with Windows 10 Mobile OS and release in the first quarter of 2016.
When the Lumia 950 preorders were launched, Microsoft had offered free Microsoft Display Dock for its Continuum feature. It allows user to connect the smartphone to a larger screen and benefit from the full-fledged PC experience.
The Lumia 950 comes with 5.2-inch Quad HD screen, Snapdragon 808 chip, 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB internal storage and supports a max of 200 GB of microSD on external storage. It features 20-megapixel rear camera with OIS support and a selfie camera of 5-megapixel. It is powered by a large battery of 3,000 mAh capacity that carries support for Qi wireless charging.
