Microsoft Surface Go 2 Rumors: New Leak Confirms Cheapest Tablet Processor
KEY POINTS
- Microsoft Surface Go 2 processor discovered
- Microsoft Surface Go 2 set to be unveiled this May
- Microsoft Surface Go 2 takes a slight bump up in power and display
The Microsoft Surface Go 2 may not be the tablet most are looking for when it comes to powerful features. But then again, it is tailored for people who are looking for something close to the Microsoft Surface line on a budget. Now, more specs have come out in the open with the actual processor of the budget-friendly device spotted.
Windows Latest discovered in a recent Energy Star certification the actual processor for one of the Microsoft Surface Go 2. As previously speculated, the tablet may come with an Intel Core M3 configuration. The Surface Go 2 will come armed with an m3-8100y chip, not that powerful but an upgrade compared to its predecessor.
Be reminded that there are three Microsoft Surface Go 2 tablets expected to come out. By default, most speculate that each will come with an Intel Pentium 4415Y processor. This is likely to be the one used in the entry model, still an upgrade compared to the old Windows 10 tablet.
The recent spotting affirms the rumors mentioned in a previous post. It was discussed there how the Microsoft Surface Go 2 could come out with one of the two chips. What was not mentioned is that with three variants, both processors could power up the Microsoft Surface Go sequel.
Other than that, there is pretty much more information needed as far as the rest of the specs of the budget-friendly tablet. So far, the Microsoft Surface Go 2 will allegedly come with a 10.2-inch display with a screen resolution of up to 1920x1200 pixels. This would mean a bump in screen size and such is the reason why the SoC plays an important role.
Other than that, other potential specs of the Microsoft Surface Pro 2 include an Intel HD (or UHD) Graphics 615 GPU, either 4 GB or 8 GB of RAM, and a 64 GB eMMC storage with options for 128 GB SSD. It has provisions for expanded storage and comes with the usual connectivity ports such as USB-C, a 3.5 mm headphone jack and a single proprietary Surface Connect connection.
No official pricing for the said tablet has been announced although most believe it will be priced not more than $400. The Microsoft Surface Go 2 may be revealed sometime this month.
