Miguel Arrested For DUI: Artist Caught Drunk Driving In Los Angeles
Just three months after his infamous Billboard Award performance, artist Miguel has been arrested for driving drunk Thursday morning in Los Angeles. The 27-year-old was initially stopped for speeding in his BMW X6 and for having tinted windows while on an L.A. freeway around 2:15 a.m. PDT
During the stop, TMZ reports that officers smelled alcohol on Miguel’s breath and asked him to take a breathalyzer. He blew a .10 and .11, and the legal limit in California is .08. The “Beautiful” singer was then arrested for DUI but later released from jail after posting a $5,000 bail. He is set to go to court next month.
Back in June, Miguel got into trouble after accidentally kicking a fan named Khyati Shah in the face while singing his song, “Adorn,” and attempting to jump over a group of audience members. Miguel may face a serious lawsuit, after the victim’s lawyer said "Some of the difficulties she's experiencing are cognitive in nature and lead to suspicion of a neurological head injury.”
Following the dangerous performance, Miguel told Billboard’s editorial director Bill Werde, "I think it's kind of clear what happened. But I'm very happy to bring my new friend, Khyati; we just met. Unfortunately, we did not meet under the best circumstances, but I think we're OK." When asked what she thought of Miguel, Khytai replied, "I adore him,” referencing the song he had just performed.
