Miguel May Have Caused Brain Damage After Kicking Kyahti Shah At Billboard Awards, Fan Threatens To Sue Singer
Singer Miguel may be facing a serious lawsuit, after the girl he accidentally kicked during his Billboard Award performance is claiming to possibly have brain damage.
Khyati Shah was kicked in the face as Miguel, 27, sang his hit song, “Adorn,” last month and attempted to jump over a group of fans.
"Some of the difficulties she's experiencing are cognitive in nature and lead to suspicion of a neurological head injury,” the victim’s lawyer, Vip Bhola, said, TMZ reports.
Bhola proceeded to criticize the Billboard Music Awards people after they gave Shah an ice pack for her elbow, though she was kicked in the face. He claims she should have been sent to the hospital immediately. Instead, she was taken backstage following Miguel’s performance and interviewed alongside the singer by Billboard’s editorial director, Bill Werde.
Shah is currently waiting on neurological test results and, depending on the results, may file a lawsuit.
Following the dangerous performance, Miguel told Werde, "I think it's kind of clear what happened. But I'm very happy to bring my new friend, Khyati; we just met. Unfortunately, we did not meet under the best circumstances, but I think we're OK." When asked what she thought of Miguel, Khytai replied, "I adore him,” referencing the song he had just performed.
Memes of the incident immediately went viral following the artist’s shocking move, and Miguel acknowledged that at times during a show you cannot predict how it will turn out. "The crazy thing is, when you're performing and you're just kind of into it, you never know where it's gonna go and where you're gonna go with it and how that might turn out. So this is one of the less-favorable moments."
