Miles Teller's Grandma Campaigns For The Actor To Be Next James Bond
Miles Teller's grandmother Leona Flowers is campaigning for her grandson to become the next James Bond.
However, fans seem to have mixed reactions to the idea. Flowers, 82, took to Twitter on Thursday to share her thoughts, explaining why Teller will be a good replacement for former James Bond actor Daniel Craig.
"They’re looking for an actor to replace Daniel Craig for future 007 movies," Flowers wrote. "I think my grandson, Miles Teller, has proven that he has everything they’re looking for- talent, looks, strength, worldwide appeal & oh, so cool."
"He can be that guy!! Wouldn’t he be great?" she added.
While some fans agreed, others chose to disagree in the comments section.
"Miles would do such a good job omg," a fan wrote, while another one commented, "Except he's American. Bond is BRITISH" to which Flowers replied, "And lots of Europeans have played Americans. He studied acting which includes accents. He’d be great."
Another fan suggested instead of James Bond, he should try to follow in the footsteps of Tom Cruise.
"He had great chemistry with Tom Cruise. Why not lobby for him to join the Mission: Impossible franchise instead???" the fan suggested. "Agent Ethan Hunt could have an estranged son out there somewhere, can't he? He could even take over the franchise when Cruise decides to step down."
In response, Flowers praised Cruise, and called him a "good guy."
A user questioned if Teller has an English accent, to which grandma replied, "He’s an actor, my dear. He can do it."
In a separate tweet, Flowers also shared how "folks in London loved him when he was just there with the premiere of Top Gun Maverick. He even charmed [Prince] William & Kate [Middleton]."
Teller was recently seen in "Top Gun: Maverick," which dropped in theaters on May 27. It is helmed by director Joseph Kosinski. The 35-year-old actor was also seen in a miniseries, "The Offer" and in the Netflix movie, "Spiderhead," alongside Chris Hemsworth.
Considering his upcoming projects, the actor will work in "The Ark and the Aardvark," "The Fence" and "Not Without Hope."
On the personal front, Teller married his wife Keleigh Sperry in 2019.
