Miley Cyrus Poses Nude For Book Amid Apparent Return To Country Roots
Following Miley Cyrus’ rebrand and apparent return to her country music beginnings, the star appears to be bucking claims that she is also chasing a new brand of “ wholesomeness.” The 24-year old “Wrecking Ball” singer posed nude for a new book being released by photographer David LaChapelle later this year.
“Lost + Found. Part I,” one of the last installments in LaChapelle’s five-book anthology, features a nude Cyrus in a prison cell on its cover. Due out in November from Taschen, the book is described as “a visual recording of the times we live in and the issues we face, expressed through David LaChapelle’s unique and distinctive vision.”
In addition to Cyrus, “Lost + Found. Part I” will feature a bounty of other high-profile celebrities, politicians and artists. Julian Assange, Hillary Clinton, Lady Gaga, Kim Kardashian (as well as other Kardashian-Jenner family members), Kanye West, Andy Warhol and more will appear on its pages.
While Cyrus at one time seemed to win headlines primarily for outlandish and sometimes controversial behavior, the singer has shifted gears ahead of the release of her forthcoming album “Younger Now,” which is due to release Sept. 29. Images associated with the promotion of her latest album are far cry from her “Bangerz” days, and the star said earlier this year she was focused on getting “clean” ahead of the album’s drop date.
“All the nipple pastie shit, that’s what I did because I felt it was part of my political movement, and that got me to where I am now. I’m evolving, and I surround myself with smart people that are evolved,” the singer told Billboard earlier this year.
She added: “I haven’t smoked weed in three weeks, which is the longest I’ve ever [gone without it]. I’m not doing drugs, I’m not drinking, I’m completely clean right now! That was just something that I wanted to do.”
Of her decision to quit smoking weed “for a second,” Cyrus said: “I like to surround myself with people that make me want to get better, more evolved, open. And I was noticing, it’s not the people that are stoned. I want to be super clear and sharp, because I know exactly where I want to be.”
Earlier this week, Cyrus — whose social media accounts appeared to forego any mention of the book for the time being while continuing the official countdown to “Younger Now” — released the album’s track listing on Twitter.
