The first DLC pack for “Minecraft Dungeons,” is now available, and “Minecraft Dungeons: Jungle Awakens” brings with it a bunch of new missions, new items, armor, and enemies.
Released just this past May, “Minecraft Dungeons” is a dungeon crawler video game developed by Mojang Studios and Double Eleven. It was published by Xbox Game Studios and is a spinoff of the popular sandbox building and crafting game "Minecraft." Up to four players can battle against enemies while exploring levels packed with treasures.
In “Minecraft Dungeons: Jungle Awakens,” the action takes place in, of all places, of course, a jungle, notes Digital Trends. Three new missions and never before seen items and challenges have been added on in this DLC for Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and Windows.
“Get ready to battle new mobs such as the Leapleaf and Whisperer before ultimately saving the day by defeating the Jungle Abomination,” said the DLC announcement. Also, the announcement notes that people who have already bought the Hero Edition already have all of these at hand. They can still upgrade their standard game with the Hero Pass.
The story involves an item called The Orb of Dominance, which is “one of the most powerful and wicked artifacts the Overworld has ever seen,” according to the game’s DLC announcement. The artifact has been destroyed, but shards of it have made their way into the jungle and corrupted both the area and its inhabitants.
The soft power cap in the game has been raised from 108 to 112, adding to the game’s difficulty, while the new levels are sprawling in size. The trailer presents lush, blocky jungle areas with plant-like enemies as well as dungeon paths built over lava even as there’s fast-moving action from our heroes.
“Minecraft Dungeons: Jungle Awakens” is the first of two planned DLC packs even as Mojang Studios also added to the base game, says Digital Trends. The new Lower Temple map, new gear, balance changes to some items, and a new threat per level difficulty have been introduced. The two unique versions of new gear are called the Battlestaff and Dual Crossbows.
On top of all of that, Mojang Studios recently released a soundtrack for the game, which is available on Apple Music and Spotify. The base game is $20, and the Hero Edition costs $30. The DLC by itself costs $6.
