Ming-Chi Kuo Predictions: Apple To Launch 4-inch iPhone 5se, iPad Air 3 In First Half, iPhone 7 Later
KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo is back with his perfect predictions for this year about the Apple lineup.
Apple iPhone 5se
Rumors are rife about the possibility of a 4.0-inch iPhone for 2016, a regular flagship and a “Plus” variant, alongside other devices. Now, Apple Insider citing Kuo said that the heavily-rumored 4-inch iPhone called “Apple iPhone 5se” is very much on track. This device will apparently come powered by Apple A8 chipset.
According to Kuo, the iPhone 5se specifications will include a 2.5D glass similar to the current-generation Apple iPhone 6s and a 12-megapixel rear-facing camera unit. He cautions that Apple fans should not expect any hardware innovation or form factor change from the smaller sibling. Plus, sales of this midget will not be sky-high and hence, the expectations are quite moderate.
Apple iPad Air 3
In addition to the iPhone 5se, Apple will also be launching its Apple iPad Air 3 tablet with a 9.7-inch display in the first half of 2016. Going by the past rumors, the next-generation iPad will pack a 4K screen resolution and it will come powered by an A9X processor.
Camera-wise, an 8-megapixel rear-facing sensor, in addition to a 2.1-megapixel front-facing shooter has been tipped. The device will only be 5 mm thick and a fingerprint sensor will be embedded on the home button.
Apple iPhone 7
Speaking of Apple iPhone 7, Kuo said that Apple is reportedly working on major improvements with regard to chipset, sensor resolution and prolonging the battery life, among others.
Even though Kuo did not touch upon the exact features, other rumors suggest that the iPhone 7 will not feature a 3.5 mm headphone jack. Similar to the Sony flagships, the upcoming Apple flagship will apparently carry a waterproof exterior.
As always, readers are advised to take the reported iPhone and iPad-related details with the proverbial pinch of salt as Apple has not confirmed any information so far.
