Miranda Lambert Accused of Allegedly Making Violent Threats Over Real Estate to Oklahoma Woman, Melanie Peden
Talk about having a bad week.
Four days ago, rumors that country singer Miranda Lambert and her husband and fellow singer, Blake Shelton, were on the rocks were swirling the Web; now Lambert is being accused of making violent threats, The National Enquirer reported Thursday.
An Oklahoma woman is accusing Lambert of threatening her over a piece of property. Business owner Melanie Peden, said the singer became hostile after Peden purchased property a few doors down from Lambert’s boutique clothing store, The Pink Pistol in Tishomingo, Okla.
Peden, 48, claims that Lambert accused her of “stealing” the property to open her antique store, Two Doors Down Junktique, and threatened her with violence.
“She had a complete meltdown and threatened to punch me in the mouth if I kept talking,” Peden said. “I was stunned and a little bit scared too because she was growling and yelling at me like a crazy lady.”
Peden said she was aware that the star was interested in the storefront four years ago but that Lambert had never followed through with a realtor to secure the deal.
“I was shocked when she became so angry with me for buying it so many years later,” said Peden, who thinks the singer has an “anger problem.”
Lambert has yet to address the claims, but she did take to social media earlier in the week to dispel rumors that her marriage to “The Voice” star wasn’t ending as the result of Shelton’s rumored affair.
Us Weekly alleges that Shelton was cheating with musician Cady Groves of the band Gunpower & Nails.
“I just read in a tabloid that our marriage is falling apart! FOCK!,” Shelton tweeted Sunday to Lambert, who replied saying she couldn’t wait to read whether they were going to make it or not.
The couple was last scene together on the red carpet of the season 4 premiere of “The Voice” at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood on Wednesday.
