Miss Howard Stern Arrested For DUI; Andrea Ownbey Has Held The Title Since 2002
Andrea Ownbey -- best known to talk-radio fans as Miss Howard Stern via "The Howard Stern Show" on Sirius XM Radio and its spinoffs in multiple media -- was arrested with police alleging she drove her car into another vehicle and was too drunk to realize it, according to TMZ.
Ownbey, 29, was arrested in Chattanooga, Tenn., on Oct. 8 after 10 p.m. local time, when a police officer was close enough to hear her car hit another one, TMZ said. The officer reported that Ownbey stank of alcohol and that she was attempting to reassemble her cellphone, which apparently also had had a rough night.
The handcuffs went on after Ownbey first admitted to drinking two glasses of wine before getting behind the wheel and then failed a field sobriety test. Miss Howard Stern’s driving-under-the-influence charge might be the least of her worries because police also apparently found in her car a marijuana pipe and a bag of weed, as well as some prescription medication. Subsequently, Ownbey blew a .178 on a Breathalyzer, TMZ said.
TMZ reported Miss Howard Stern was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, and driving while in possession, along with DUI.
The Christian Post reported that Ownbey took to her Twitter account to address the charges.
“I’ve been to court once already all charges dropped except DUI I had nothing illegal it was my legal medication for my head,” she tweeted.
Ownbey was crowned Miss Howard Stern in 2002 and still holds onto the title a decade later. When news of her recent arrest broke, hundreds of well-wishers took to Twitter to wish her good luck and encourage her to stay strong.
Since the shock jock gave Ownbey the title, she has starred in productions such as 2011's “Horrorween,” 2006's “Dorm of the Dead,” and 2005’s “B---hin’ Blonde,” according to IMDB.
