The pageant uses the crown to celebrate women, with the organization itself touting its ultimate goal on its website.
“The Miss Universe Organization (MUO) is a global, inclusive organization that celebrates women of all cultures and backgrounds and empowers them to realize their goals through experiences that build self-confidence and create opportunities for success,” the website states.
The last woman crowned was Miss Universe 2020, Andrea Meza, from Mexico. Meza, a former software engineer and woman’s rights advocate will be on hand to crown her successor.
