Police in Grosse Ile, Michigan, are asking the public for assistance in their search for a 51-year-old mother who has been missing since early Friday morning.

Christine Chiles, a mother of three, was last seen around 4 a.m. Friday and wearing gray sweatpants and a beige sweater. Authorities believe she may be suffering from depression. She is described as Caucasian with long blonde hair, 5-foot-10 and 125 pounds.

Since she was reported missing, local police have searched Chiles’ home and its surrounding area without turning up any leads. Authorities used a K9 unit to track her scent. They have also reached out to the Wayne County Sheriff-Marine Division and Coast Guard to aid in their search, according to the Detroit Free Press.

Locals helped conduct search parties on the island community on Friday and Saturday. Participants went door to door asking for any surveillance footage and also inspected areas like docks, garages and boats. By 6:30 p.m., the groups had covered most of the island, with a few exceptions, including to the Municipal Airport.

St. Joseph Catholic Church in the neighboring town of Trenton held a prayer vigil Saturday for Chiles following afternoon mass.

Anyone with information pertaining to Chiles’ case is asked to call the Grosse Ile police at (734) 676-7100.

Grosse Ile is located about 25 miles southwest of Detroit.
