‘Mistletoe And Menorahs’ Lifetime Movie Premiere: Cast, Trailer, Synopsis
Christmas may be in full swing, but it’s not the only holiday getting an all-star film treatment this year. The Jewish holiday of Hanukkah will also get a chance to shine in the newest Lifetime holiday movie, “Mistletoe & Menorahs,” starring Jake Epstein and Kelly Jakle.
The film’s stars are taking on a legendary task by appearing as the leads in Lifetime’s first movie to acknowledge the Jewish Festival of Lights, but they’re certainly no strangers to films that deal with Christmas. Jakle previously appeared in Lifetime’s 2018 film “Christmas Harmony,” while Epstein is pulling double duty for the network this year, also starring in “A Storybook Christmas.” Both are also easily recognizable from their work outside of the holiday movie scene as well, with Jakle portraying Jessica in the “Pitch Perfect” films, while Epstein is best known for his work as Craig Manning on “Degrassi: The Next generation,” Chuck Russink on “Designated Survivor” and Brian Altman on “Suits.”
Still, no matter how you know them, the pair are still taking on a big adventure together with this new film. So what can we expect from this look at not one, but two holidays? Let’s find out.
“When a determined toy company executive, Christy (Jakle), must learn about Hanukkah in a hurry in order to land a big account, she enlists the help of her co-worker's friend Jonathan,” a synopsis for the film reads.
However, Jonathan, who is Jewish, also needs some help too, and Christy is just the one to give it.
“[Jonathan] happens to also be in desperate need of turning his bachelor pad into a Christmas Wonderland to impress his girlfriend's father,” the synopsis says.
However, as the two work together to teach the other one about a holiday they’re not as familiar with, they could wind up discovering something else instead. Will their search for new holiday traditions lead them to also find new romance as well? Or will they both just get a lesson on how the holidays are spent for everyone?
“Mistletoe and Menorahs” airs Saturday at 6 p.m. EST on Lifetime.
