‘Modern Family’ Star Ariel Winter Opens Up About Her Bashers, Biggest Role Model Sofia Vergara

“Modern Family” star Ariel Winter is once again opening up about the struggles of being in the limelight at a very young age.

In a recent interview with SELF, the 18-year-old actress admitted that her bashers used to bother her. However, when she realized that they always have something to say no matter what she does, she learned how to appreciate and love herself more. “If I went to the Emmys or if I even went to the grocery store, there would be an article the next day being like, ‘Ariel Winter had her boobs out at this event!’ Just really negative things that weren’t helpful for me,” she said.

But thanks to the people she has been working with on “Modern Family,” Winter has a wonderful support system.

The actress, who is currently dating Levi Meaden, revealed that among the cast of “Modern Family,” she looks up to Sofia Vergara the most. “I had a great role model in Sofia Vergara growing up, with her being a curvy woman that was super proud of who she was and what she looked like. She could see that I was struggling a little bit with how to deal with my body, and was always trying to give me advice, like, ‘Here are some brands that would look good on your body type,’ or ‘Wear whatever you want, and feel good about you,’” she said.

Other than Vergara, Winter also looks up to her older sister, Shantelle, who has been her legal guardian since 2012. According to the actress, Shantelle is very confident with her body, so she always gives her sound advice on how to feel good in hers. “I look up to her so much… I would listen to her talk to me,” she said.
