Montana Man Beats Puppy To Death For Chewing On Headset, Breaks Another Canine's Leg
A man in Great Falls, Montana, was charged after he killed a puppy for chewing on his Xbox headset.
On May 8, a woman filed a report of animal cruelty. She stated that her coworker received a call from her boyfriend saying that he was going to kill her puppy because the canine chewed on his headphones. The coworker rushed home and was informed that the puppy was dead. The woman said she decided to file a complaint as the coworker, who is a victim of domestic violence, was not willing to talk to law enforcement officials.
As part of the investigation, the Great Falls Animal Control officers interviewed the receptionist at a veterinary clinic, who told them that the canine was beaten to death. An autopsy revealed the puppy’s rib was broken and the canine had punctured lung.
The investigators then questioned the accused, 26-year-old Pierson, who told them that he killed the puppy because it chewed on his Xbox headset. He said when he arrived home for lunch, he saw the canine chewing on his new Xbox headset and he “just got so angry.” He hit the canine with the headset and kicked it in the ribs.
Investigation revealed the accused had broken another puppy’s leg by throwing the canine down the stairs for being too loud. The dog, which was the accused’s pet, underwent a surgery.
Following investigation, Pierson was taken into custody and charged with two counts of aggravated animal cruelty Wednesday (May 27). He has since been released on bond.
The incident comes days after a Louisiana man was charged with animal cruelty for killing his dog by repeatedly throwing the canine against a wall. Deputies with the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office arrived at a home after receiving a report of animal abuse. They found blood on the furniture, walls, floor and doors. They then found the bloodied dog in a plastic bag. Investigation revealed that 41-year-old Christopher Gilchrist had repeatedly thrown the animal against the wall and door until it died. He was charged with one count of aggravated animal cruelty.
