A Canadian mother ran outside her house to save her family’s pet goose from an eagle while breastfeeding her infant.

The video of the Vancouver Island incident went viral on TikTok and racked up almost 10 million views.

"This is mom life," Cait Oakley told CBC about her “fight-or-flight response.”

Oakley was breastfeeding her daughter inside her North Saanich home Monday when the eagle attacked her beloved goose, Frankie. The eagle swooped down and dragged Frankie away from the porch for a short distance before Oakley ran out whilst still nursing her child.

“I was in the middle of feeding her, so that’s why I didn’t have a shirt on and was kind of getting ready for the evening,” she laughed and told Chek News. “I just ran outside and when Mike came out he was like, ‘you’re topless.’ And I’m like yeah, no, I’m very aware. Sorry neighbors.”

Her husband, Mike Lazic, uploaded the video online, where netizens praised the mother’s incredible multi-tasking.

“As a mom of three I’m always breastfeeding and it’s so natural, that’s mom life summed up, something is always going on when I’m feeding her and I’m always on the go,” Oakley added.

The mother-of-three said Frankie is like her fourth child.

“She has her partner Gerald that they live on the property and roam around, they’re quite cute,” Oakley went on to say. “She’s like our little shadow. If we’re out gardening, she’s right behind us, she’ll nip at our clothes for treats, she’s such a presence in the yard. She just had a bunch of babies this year, so yeah, she’s a special little goose.”

The one-year-old Sebastopol goose made it out of the incident without a single scratch. The family said they have chickens on the property, and Frankie was brought to alert the family about predators. But they now see her as a part of the family.

“People are just loving Frankie so much, and I’m just having so much fun with it it’s hilarious,” Oakley told the outlet. “I think it’s just such a chaotic unusual thing to see, I mean it’s definitely not something you see every day,” she joked.

“The reaction has been so funny, the comments have me howling, people are saying she now deserves to live inside our house.”

The viral video was flooded with comments.

“Frankie just running back inside like THANK YOU MOM,” said one commenter.

Another joked, “Not all hero’s [sic] wear clothes.”

"Omg. The way she’s at the front door calling for help," another said. "So happy to see you were there to save her.
