Moto X (2016) Rumors: 5-Inch Motorola Moto X3, Metal Unibody, Design, Stellar Camera, Snapdragon 820 Expected
Motorola, the Lenovo owned firm is expected to release new editions of Moto X, Moto G and Moto E smartphones. A smartphone with a moniker “Motorola Moto X3” has been found listed on an import-export Indian website which indicates that a successor model of 2015 Moto X Pure Edition (aka Moto X Play) is under construction.
Lenovo is expected to launch 2016 editions of Moto X, Moto G and Moto E smartphones this year. All these devices are expected to carry Lenovo branding. Zauba, an import-export website from India has listed the successor model for Moto X Style as Motorola Moto X3. However, it is unlikely to carry Motorola branding on the final product, Phone Arena reported.
The Zauba listing has revealed that it is a single SIM GSM smartphone. Apart from this no other new information is available for Moto X 2016 smartphone. The Moto X3 name sounds confusing as Motorola did not launch Moto X2 smartphone after the launch of first generation Moto X phone. Since Zauba has a good track record of revealing actual names of unannounced smartphones, it is possible that the Moto X Style successor may launch as Moto X3.
The first evidence of the Moto X3 had cropped up in December 2015. A leaked photo of the rear panel of the purported Moto X3 had revealed that the smartphone will be coming with a full metal unibody design. Since the rear panel seems to house a large circular cutout for the main shooter, it is expected to arrive with an upgraded camera along with a dual-tone flash.
Like other 2016 flagship smartphones, the Moto X3 is rumored to include a Snapdragon 820 chipset. Even though there is no news about thermal heating problems associated with the SoC, rumors are suggesting that the Moto X 2016 will be arriving with a heat pipe that will help in regulating the temperature of the chipset.
