Following the exile of Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino, Daniel Levy announced that Jose Mourinho will be the new Spurs' coach. The former Manchester United and Chelsea coach signed a contract and will lead the club for the 2022-2023 seasons. Back in September, the Special One has already predicted that the Argentine’s time at Spurs is coming to an end.

Football pundit and former manager Jose Mourinho is the new coach of Tottenham Hotspurs. This is following the announcement of Spurs that they have decided to let go of Mauricio Pochettino after almost six years of being the head coach of Tottenham Hotspurs. The former Manchester United and Chelsea boss was earlier rumored to be in negotiations with Tottenham for the recently vacated post and is expected to reverse the club’s drift to 14th position in the Premier League table.

Over the past couple of years, Mauricio Pochettino was very vocal about the reality that his time at Tottenham could swiftly end. The Argentine coach can be heard multiple times, making references to a possible return to Spain with Real Madrid. Interestingly, Pochettino suggested ahead of last season’s Champions League Final that he will quit if Tottenham Hotspurs won.

Earlier this month, Jose Mourinho was linked to a lot of clubs, including Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham, and Real Madrid. Several reports claimed that the Portuguese pundit has been discussing with his close friends the likelihood of taking over at Real Madrid and Tottenham.

Rumors have it that Jose Mourinho would prefer to come back to the Premier League, ruling out the possibility of leading an international management position. The Portuguese coach has reportedly held conversations with friends on taking the helm at Tottenham, according to The Sun. Mourinho is allegedly confident that the job at Real Madrid belongs to him should Zinedine Zidane leave the club.

However, despite that, he admits that he has not yet decided if he would accept the post because of the likelihood that Tottenham’s coach job will be available. With Mauricio Pochettino getting booted from Tottenham Hotspurs, Daniel Levy is obliged to fork out £12.5million. It still remains to be seen if the Spurs will go for Jose Mourinho as its next manager.

Tottenham Chairman Daniel Levy said that Jose Mourinho is one of the most successful football managers with a wealth of experience that can inspire teams. He is also a great tactician and has won recognitions and each club that he coached.
