A 52-year-old woman in Birmingham, England claimed she was physically assaulted by a group of people at her late friend's funeral earlier this month, which gave her post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and resulted in her body turning "black and blue"

Amanda Bulloch, of Nechells, suffered two black eyes and was bruised all over her body after she was punched and kicked by five people at a house located in Pershore Road, Cotteridge, on Oct. 18, the Birmingham Mail reported.

Bulloch ended up at the residence after she attended the funeral of her 70-year-old friend at Lodge Hill Cemetery in Selly Oak, according to the outlet.

"We'd been at the crematorium and we'd come back to [the] house, and everyone had a drink to celebrate [my friend's] life," Bulloch was quoted as saying.

The people initially danced together at the gathering, but Bulloch claimed two men and three women later started "kicking the s--t out of [her]," according to the report.

Bulloch was able to leave the property and raise the alarm when her caretaker called 999 — the United Kingdom's hotline for emergency medical services. However, she was allegedly attacked again until her body became "literally black and blue."

Bulloch, who suffers from emphysema and heart issues, went to the emergency department at Heartlands Hospital following the incident as she was struggling to breathe. She was discharged six hours later, but she claimed the assault left her with PTSD.

"I'm petrified to come out my door. I'm also having nightmares of trying to get out of the door," Bulloch said.

Bulloch claimed "no one seems to care" about the incident and the response from West Midlands Police disappointed her as they have yet to take a formal statement from her regarding the assault.

"I would have expected police to have taken this more seriously," Bulloch remarked.

Authorities have started an investigation into the "serious assault" that happened on Pershore Road at around 3 p.m. pm Oct. 18, according to a police spokesperson.

It was unclear if the incident police were referring to was the assault on Bulloch.
