While there are still several weeks left before some of the biggest movies of the summer are released, the month of May will offer plenty of entertaining films that are sure to satisfy moviegoers everywhere.

Some of the flicks hitting theaters in May include Disney’s live-action remake of “Aladdin” as well as the long-awaited battle of mythical creatures in “Godzilla: King of the Monsters.”

“UglyDolls” (May 3)

In Uglyville, weirdness is celebrated and all of the residents are happy with themselves. However, when Moxy (Kelly Clarkson) and her friends stumble across the town of Perfection, they are forced to deal with what it feels like to be considered less than perfect.

“The Intruder” (May 3)

Scott (Michael Ealy) and his wife Annie (Meagan Good) think they have found the perfect home. However, the couple will find themselves in a fight for their lives when they realize the former owner, Charlie (Dennis Quaid), isn’t ready to let go of the only home he has ever known.

“Long Shot” (May 3)

When Fred (Seth Rogen), a free-spirited journalist, runs into his childhood crush, Charlotte (Charlize Theron), who is now a successful politician with dreams of becoming president, she ignores her advisors and hires him as her speechwriter.

“The Hustle” (May 10)

Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson team up to put a spin on this remake of the ’80s comedy “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.” The women play two con artists, who use their criminal talents to pay back the men who have wronged them.

“Pokemon: Detective Pikachu” (May 10)

After his father mysteriously goes missing, Tim (Justice Smith) teams up with Detective Pikachu (Ryan Reynolds) to find out what really happened.

“The Sun Is Also A Star” (May 17)

Natasha (Yara Shahidi) only has a few hours left in New York City before her family is deported back to Jamaica. However, those finals hour will change everything when fate brings Daniel (Charles Melton) into her life.

“Aladdin” (May 24)

This live-action remake of the 1992 animated film follows Aladdin’s (Mena Massoud) journey as he tries to win the heart of Princess Jasmine (Naomi Scott) after releasing Genie (Will Smith) from a magical lamp.

“Godzilla: King of the Monsters” (May 31)

When god-sized monsters, including Godzilla, Mothra, Rodan and King Ghidorah arise to battle one another for the title of King, humanity’s fate will be left hanging in the balance.

“John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum” (May 17)

After making a slew of enemies, John Wick (Keanu Reeves) must fight his way out of New York City after a $14 million bounty is placed on his head.

“Ma” (May 31)

A group of teens believe their luck has finally changed when they meet a friendly middle-aged woman, who offers her basement as a party spot. However, when they begin to see a different side of the woman they call “Ma” (Octavia Spencer), the friends realize they made a major mistake by letting her into their lives.

“Rocketman” (May 31)

Taron Edgerton stars in the musical biopic about Elton John’s life. The film will feature the singer’s childhood, his partnership with Bernie Taupin, as well as his struggles with depression, substance abuse and more.
