MTV 'The Challenge' Winners: List Of Champions In Seasons Leading Up To 'Total Madness'
Through 12 episodes of “The Challenge: Total Madness,” half of the original 28-person cast has been eliminated. Two of the remaining contestants were winners last season, but no other player has won a “Challenge” championship over the last three years.
Four first-place finishers split the $1 million grand prize on “War of the Worlds 2,” which aired in the second half of 2019. Dee Nguyen and Rogan O'Connor won their first titles and are in a good position to reach the “Total Madness” Final. Chris “CT” Tamburello and Jordan Wiseley were the other two winners before being eliminated early this season.
Wiseley has arguably become the toughest “Challenge” competitor of the last few years. He finished in first place on each of his last three seasons prior to “Total Madness,” winning “Battle of the Exes II” (Season 26), “XXX: Dirty 30” (Season 30) and “War of the Worlds 2” (Season 34).
Sarah Rice and Camila Nakagawa were the female first-place finishers on Wiseley’s first two championship seasons.
Ashley Mitchell is the top earner in “Challenge” history and the only contestant that’s won more money than Wiseley. She took home $1 million—half of which she took from teammate Hunter Barfield—on “Final Reckoning” (Season 32), and Mitchell was the co-champion with CT on ‘“Invasion of the Champions” (Season 29). Mitchell was the second woman eliminated from “Total Madness.”
“Vendettas” (Season 31) and “War of the Worlds” (Season 33) are the only “Challenge” seasons that featured just one first-place finisher. Cara Maria Sorbello won nearly $400,000 on “Vendettas” and Turabi “Turbo” Çamkıran was awarded $750,000 for his “War of the Worlds” victory. Neither contestant appeared on “Total Madness.”
Johnny “Bananas” Devenanzio might be the favorite to win “Total Madness.” Considered by many to be the “Challenge” GOAT with six career championships, Bananas hasn’t won a title since he finished in first place on “Rivals III” (Season 28) and infamously chose not to share his winnings with Rice, his teammate for the entire season.
It’s unknown how many first-place contestants there will be on “Total Madness.” The Season 35 competitors are vying for their share of a $1 million grand prize.
New episodes of "The Challenge: Total Madness” air Wednesdays at 8 p.m. EDT on MTV.
