The 2017 MTV Video Music Awards were full of OMG moments but most importantly, it was a night of epic performances. While some acts did fall short, there were several stars who were able to get the audience on their feet and received standing ovations.

If you happened to miss the award show on Sunday night, you can still watch every VMA performance below.

Kendrick Lamar

The rapper rightfully opened the show with a stellar performance of his songs “DNA” and “Humble.” His time on stage included ninjas, one of whom was on fire and the rest were busy climbing a fence on fire. To say Kendrick Lamar’s performance was burning hot would be an understatement.

Lorde

While many people expected the singer to perform her hit song “Green Light,” Lorde didn’t sing at all. Instead the 20-year-old danced to her single “Homemade Dynamite.” Hours before taking the stage, the New Zealand native revealed that she came down with the flu and had to be given an IV. Nonetheless, the singer still took the stage. She may not have given the crowd the performance they were hoping for but she gave them one that they would remember.

Fifth Harmony

Fifth Harmony performed a medley of their hit songs “Angel” and “Down.” In the process of dancing in sync and remaining on key, the foursome managed to shade their former group member Camila Cabello.

Julia Michaels

The singer, who is the creative mind behind Selena Gomez’s “Hands to Myself” and Hailee Steinfeld’s “Love Yourself,” hit the stage to perform her song “Issues.” Unfortunately, the show went on commercial in the middle of the song so the folks at home didn’t get see the entire performance.

Shawn Mendes

The 19-year-old singer was quite impressive when he hit the stage to perform “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back.” While interacting with the crowd, the artist managed to skillfully play the guitar, and let’s not forget that his live vocals were quite impressive.

P!nk

While receiving of the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, the singer performed several of her hit songs including “Just Give Me a Reason,” “Don’t Let Me Get Me,” “So What” and “ What About Us.” With the help of chainsaws, a tractor and flying above the audience, P!nk managed to hold the attention of the crowd and remind them why she was being honored with the coveted award.

Miley Cyrus

Unlike her 2013 VMAs performance, there was a lot less twerking and a bigger focus on vocals as the singer performed her song “Younger Now.” Dressed up in attire from the 50s, Cyrus let her voice do the talking this time around.

DNCE and Rod Stewart

In an unexpected collaboration, the group hit the stage with the rock legend to perform his song “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?”

Alessia Cara

Known for not being one to conform to society’s expectations, the singer made the audience feels something deep with her beautiful performance of “Scars to Your Beautiful.”

Demi Lovato

Instead of hitting the stage, Lovato performed her song “Sorry Not Sorry” by the pool in Las Vegas with the help of a choir and a few backup dancers.

Ed Sheeran

After performing the “Shape of You,” Sheeran revealed his surprise guest, Lil Uzi Vert. The two then performed the rapper’s popular tune “XO Tour Llif3” to the surprise of the crowd.

Kyle

Kyle was another artist whose set was cut off due to a commercial break but from the portion of “iSpy” that was seen on TV, it was clear that the singer knows how to make the crowd pay attention.

30 Seconds to Mars

The group stepped away from their typical performances and instead brought out Travis Scott for a unique medley that seemed to display the performance through heat vision.

Logic, Alessia Cara and Khalid

The three artists delivered a powerful performance about suicide prevention. Logic later gave a speech about sexism, racism and mental health issues that seemed to resonate with the crowd.

Katy Perry

Nicki Minaj joined the singer on stage to perform their song “Swish Swish.” The performance included Perry flying over the crowd before dunking a basketball into a giant hoop and ending the award show.
