Muhammad Ali Asked Sugar Ray Leonard About His Sex Life During First Encounter
Boxing Hall of Famer Sugar Ray Leonard said Muhammad Ali asked about how long he waits before having sex when he is booked for a fight during their first encounter.
To this day, Ali is still considered as the most talented boxer of all time. During his prime, there’s not much said about how he was outside the ring. Aside from his confidence, many believe that Ali is a serious type of boxer, the kind of athlete that takes a lot of pride in his craft.
However, Leonard, another boxing great, has just revealed the other side of Ali. In an exclusive interview with “Fair Game,” Leonard admitted that he can’t recall where he first met Ali. But he remembered vividly what the legend told him in their very first encounter.
According to Leonard, Ali was his idol and when Ali first saw him, the legendary boxer kind of recognized hi.
“I met him through a friend. We had a chance to meet him probably in jersey or probably in Las Vegas. He was my idol, I looked at him and he was like ‘I know who you are,’”Leonard recalled of Ali.
While Leonard was still stunned by Ali’s presence, he got even more shocked with what the champ asked him. Leonard stated that Ali asked him about how he manages his sex life when preparing for a fight.
“'You like boxing?’ I said ‘yes sir.’ Then he said ’How long do you wait before you having sex before a fight?’ He said ‘do you like sex?’ I said ‘sometimes’, ’How long do you wait(stop having sex) before a fight? I said ‘a couple of days.’ He said ‘You’re a bad dude, you’re a bad dude,’” Leonard recalled.
More importantly, Leonard revealed how devastating Ali’s death was to him. As per the 63-year-old boxing icon, he didn’t cry at Ali’s funeral but he let it all out when he came back home. Leonard also revealed the things Ali used to tell him about managing his career.
“He was so much to me, Muhammad Ali. And I went to his funeral and strange enough I didn’t break down or anything. But two days after getting back home, I cried like a baby cause I missed him,” Leonard admitted.
“He (Ali) always told me, ‘make sure you sign your own checks. Make sure you stay in shape.’ He gave me a lot of pointers that I’ve used then and I still use today as an entrepreneur,” Leonard revealed.
Meanwhile, Leonard is reportedly selling his California estate for nearly $52 million. According to a blog post by Coldwell Banker Global Luxury, which has the listing, Leonard and his wife, Bernadette, built the home 22 years ago.
