‘My 600-LB Life’ Season 8 Stars Where Are They Now? Steven Assanti Update
When viewers tuned into “My 600-LB Life” Season 8 on Wednesday night, they were reunited with Steven Assanti. When the subject made his debut on the TLC series in 2017, he weighed over 700 pounds.
According to Facebook updates, it appears Steven and his brother, Justin, are still working on their weight loss journey. However, the two have struggled to follow Dr. Nowzaradan’s diet and exercise suggestions.
“If Steve Sr. thought getting weight-loss surgery for his sons would help bring them together, the third year of their weight-loss journey will prove him wrong,” the “My 600-LB Life” season 8, episode 22 synopsis teased.
“Justin returns to Rhode Island with every intention of never speaking to Steven again,” the TLC synopsis revealed.
While viewers are aware that Steven and Justin were able to receive weight loss surgery on screen. Off-screen, Steven got married in 2018 and moved in with his wife, Stephanie Sanger, in Iowa.
Although he isn’t active on Facebook, Stephanie shares photos of their family on her page. Despite her posts, it is unclear how dedicated Steven is to his weight loss journey. Most of the photos that Steven appears in only feature his head, which makes it difficult to determine his progress.
Meanwhile, Justin is pretty active on Facebook and Reddit. From his Facebook page, it is clear that he is still running his Hobby Haven store in Rhode Island. However, he told fans on Reddit that he can only open the store one day out of the week due to the coronavirus pandemic.
While Justin appears focused on his life in Rhode Island, it is unclear how Steven is doing following his latest appearance on the TLC series. Last year, Steven slammed the show because of the harassment he received after his episode aired.
“After the new show…it’s been nothing but harassment towards me, my wife, and my family. And it sickens me to the core. All I ask is for people to get a life and move on because not everything you see on television is accurate, but small-minded folks will continue to believe that it is,” he said in a statement to Starcasm.
“The way they portray cast members on ALL REALITY SHOWS is not really reality #1 and #2, mostly all of what you see the cast members are being told how to act and what to say. Please respect my privacy, I’m happy, healthy and those who are true fans of me and my family will indeed respect that.”
