‘My 600-Lb Life’ Stars Where Are They Now? Lisa Fleming Update
“My 600-Lb Life” Season 6 star Lisa Fleming reportedly died on Thursday night due to health complications. TLC viewers first met Lisa when she was more than 700 pounds and discovered maggots in the folds of her skin.
The middle-aged woman had a history of weight issues as a child. However, she developed an unhealthy relationship with food after witnessing the murder of her brother. Lisa, who was also immobile, eventually realized she needed to make a change in life and sought help from Dr. Nowzaradan.
However, she failed to follow his diet plan and lose the weight necessary to be approved for a gastric bypass surgery. As a result, she was kicked out of the program and told she would need to lose a specific amount of weight to be accepted back. Lisa ultimately never received the surgery.
Despite her failure on television, Lisa’s daughter, Danielle, told TMZ her mother managed to lose 200 pounds after her TLC episode and was able to stand. Danielle revealed the 50-year-old actually died from ongoing health problems that were present before she was even featured on the show.
“At the end she was sick and her body was tired and her body just gave out,” she stated.
On Thursday night, Danielle announced Lisa’s death on Facebook by sharing a photo of the two holding hands. “I am truly at a loss for words right now. God knows I wanted you to hold on until I got here but He knew what was best for me. I didn’t need to see you like that!” Danielle wrote.
“This morning I sat and held your hand for 4 hours knowing nothing I could’ve done would bring you back to me. Anybody who knows me knows I gave my mother my ALL! She was my world and I was her #NumberOneGirl Mommy, I love you from here to the stars and back!” she added.
Danielle’s comment section has been flooded by fans and loved ones offering their condolences and encouraging words amid her heartbreaking loss.
Lisa’s death comes just weeks after the passing of fellow “My 600-Lb Life” Season 6 cast member 30-year-old James “L.B.” Bonner, who died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
