‘My Big Fat Fabulous Life’: Whitney Breaks Down In Episode 2 Teaser

“My Big Fat Fabulous Life” Season 5 is going to chronicle the time when Whitney Way Thore discovered her ex-boyfriend Avi Lang’s cheating scandal in Tuesday night’s all-new episode. In the teaser clip for Season 5, episode 2 of the TLC series, Whitney is seen breaking down while talking about her former beau and the time she thought that they were headed to a perfect marriage.

“You know I’ve went for so long feeling Avi was so perfect and forgiving anything that didn’t seem perfect to me because having him was better than not having him,” the 33-year-old says as tears fall from her eyes in the exclusive sneak peek that People published on Monday.

The preview then features a scene in which Whitney tries out a wedding gown in front of her friends, Heather and Ashley, and her mother. When Heather asks, “How do you feel in this one. Is it better than the last one?” Whitney’s countenance doesn’t seem that pleased. Heather continues her interrogation by asking, “What’s wrong with it? Just it hurts? Is it scratchy? You don’t like it?” To which Whitney nods her head in response while forcing herself to smile in front of her friends.

The promo clip then jumps to an on-camera interview where Whitney admits that she needs advice after realizing that she may be repeating the mistakes she made in her previous failed relationships. “I do need some advice, and I have to admit like, here I am again,” she says. “Some man that just doesn’t know how to treat me right, or something.”

Back to the fitting room, Whitney finally opens up her mind about the dress she tried wearing. “Please help me. It’s just way too hot and itchy … and I mean like every wedding dress is gonna be that way.” Whitney’s words prompt Ashley to question her friend’s behavior. “I don’t understand why she’s getting so angry like angrier with each dress she puts on,” Ashley says in the sneak peek before adding that she thinks some of Whitney’s repressed feelings are coming to the surface.

In a different teaser trailer that was recently uploaded to the “My Big Fat Fabulous Life” Facebook page, Whitney is seen making the shocking discovery that Avi was apparently engaged to someone else while they were still dating. The promo vid even featured a scene wherein Whitney confronts Avi about his cheating scandal over the phone.

Meanwhile, the synopsis for the upcoming episode of the reality series reveals that Whitney is finally heading home after her brief stint as a backup dancer. The synopsis also hints that the stint may have played a part in Whitney’s problem with Avi. In addition to her own love life woes, she will be caught in between the sudden breakup of Buddy and Heather.

“My Big Fat Fabulous Life” Season 5, episode 2 airs Tuesday, Jan. 9, at 8 p.m. EST on TLC.
