'My Southern Family Christmas' Hallmark Movie Premiere: Cast, Trailer, Synopsis
Hallmark Channel's merry holiday season continues with the newest "Countdown to Christmas" holiday premiere, "My Southern Family Christmas." The film, starring Jaicy Elliot and Ryan Rottman, premieres Thursday night.
The film will be a treat for fans not only because it is airing on Thanksgiving night, but because it will give them a chance to get to know the two stars better, as they are both relative newbies to the Hallmark family. Elliot has only starred in "Romance in Style" thus far, and is best known for her role as Dr. Taryn Helm on "Grey's Anatomy."
As for Rottman, his previous work on Hallmark includes the Hallmark Channel film "Sister of the Bride," as well as the Hallmark Movies and Mysteries films "Christmas Wonderland" and "Christmas For Keeps."
Brian McNamara ("Christmas in Louisiana"), Moira Kelly ("Christmas in Louisiana") and Bruce Campbell ("One December Night") also star.
So what can fans expect from the film? Let's find out.
"Under the guise of a journalist writing a story about a tight-knit community that makes Christmas special, Campbell (Elliot) has a chance to get to know her biological father Everett (Campbell) for the first time—without him ever knowing who she really is," a synopsis reads. "As she spends time with him and his family, as well as Jackson (Rottman), the town's record keeper, she realizes that families are messy, wonderful things."
Of course, as she continues to grow closer with everyone, Campbell will have to determine if she'll expose the truth about who she really is—even if it means potentially ruining everything.
"In the end, Campbell must decide if she's going to keep her identity a secret or reveal the truth to her father—a decision that will change their family Christmas forever," the synopsis concludes.
"My Southern Family Christmas" premieres Thursday, Nov. 24 at 8 p.m. EST on Hallmark Channel.
