'MythBusters’ 2015 Spoilers: Premiere Date Revealed; Find Out When Adam Savage, Jamie Hyneman Will Return

It’s summer time! And you know what that means? It’s the perfect weather to go outside and bust some myths! That’s right, “MythBusters” will be lathering themselves up in sunblock as they prepare to take on even more eye-widening tasks under the sun during the 2015 midseason premiere of the hit “Discovery Channel” series.

So, just what kind of challenges can we expect our favorite myth-busting duo, Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman, to take on in the upcoming installment of the science entertainment program? Well, when “MythBusters” returns for its midseason premiere on Saturday, July 18, viewers should prepare themselves for a wet and wild episode -- well… maybe not so wild.

In a promo video for the forthcoming episode, obtained by TVLine, viewers watch as Savage and Hyneman attempt to have a boat shot into the air through the use of high explosives.

“Our goal is not to blow up our boat, but lift it out of the water,” Savage, who is decked out in an old school captain’s uniform explains. In order to lift the boat, the twosome use 1,000 pounds of Anfo, a slow speed explosive, that would give Savage and Hyneman the push they wanted for the boat instead of cracking the ship in half.

But when Savage goes to trigger the explosives laying 30 feet below the wading boat, nothing happens.

“Well, that was anticlimactic,” Savage quips after attempting to activate the explosives a few more times.

TVLine reports that the curious couple will also take on TV-related myths -- specifically from the award-winning AMC series “Breaking Bad" -- this season. Savage and Hyneman will try to recreate the scene from the series finale where Walter White (Bryan Cranston) took down his foes using a homemade machine gun. And that’s not all, “Breaking Bad” fans! Vince Gilligan, creator of the critically acclaimed drama, will make an appearance in that very same episode.

“MythBusters” will return with its midseason premiere this summer on Saturday, July 18, at 9 p.m. EDT on Discovery Channel. Check out the trailer for the new episodes here.
