‘Nashville’ Season 6: 7 Questions Fans Need Answered In Final Season
“Nashville” starts its final season on Thursday, and that means there’s limited time left with our favorite fictional country singers. There will be only 16 episodes in Season 6, but hopefully the CMT drama will find time to answer these burning questions:
Will Deacon find love? There was a clear connection with Jessie (Kaitlin Doubleday), but Deacon (Charles Esten) always makes it pretty clear that Rayna (Connie Britton) was the love of his life. Still, it would be nice if he could find someone he could at least be happy with.
Will Avery get a chance to shine? Obviously, Juliette (Hayden Panettiere) has a lot of issues, but relationships are supposed to be a give and take situation. It seems like Avery (Jonathan Jackson) gives all the support and gets none of it in return. Even when he was touring last year, Juliette could barely manage her jealousy, and he left the tour to be with Juliette after her scandal with Maddie’s (Lennon Stella) song. Will Avery ever be anything besides Juliette’s support system?
Will Teddy come back? Rayna’s ex-husband is also Daphne’s (Maisy Stella) biological father. When Teddy (Eric Close) was on furlough for Rayna’s funeral, he made it clear that he isn’t abandoning Daphne. He is supposed to be up for parole soon, but will he try to take back custody of Daphne?
Are there other artists on Highway 65? The label was looking pretty small at the end of last season. It seems like it was just Will Lexington, The Exes, Maddie Jaymes and Juliette Barnes (if Deacon allows her to stay on the label after stealing a song from Maddie last season). The business is having some issues, but it’s going to need a little more talent in order to survive. It seems like a good time for an album from Deacon Claybourne.
Will Daphne be happy? She’s about 14, so it’s unlikely that she will stop being moody. While it is certainly reasonable for the teen to be distraught, it’s getting a little repetitive to watch. It would be nice to see her focus her energy on music or literally anything besides getting mad at Deacon or jealous of Maddie.
Will Scarlett and Gunnar get back together? When “Nashville” Season 6 starts off, Scarlett (Clare Bowen) and Gunnar (Sam Palladio) will not even be on speaking terms. The two definitely need some time apart, but will some independence allow them to get back together and form a healthy relationship?
Will Rayna appear? It’s the biggest question that we’re unlikely to get an answer to any time soon. Connie Britton told TVLine in 2017 that she was open to returning. “Nashville’s always going to be important to me, so I’m totally open to whatever as time goes on. But it is really hard to say goodbye to this character,” the actress said last year when her final episodes aired.
Fans will have to tune in to see if these questions are answered. “Nashville” Season 6 premieres Thursday at 9 p.m. EST on CMT.
