‘Nashville’ Star Rachel Bilson Shares How She Prepares For Her Kissing Scenes Amid ChapStick Partnership
“Nashville” star Rachel Bilson recently opened up about her new partnership with ChapStick and dished on how she prepares for her kissing scenes.
While speaking with People Style, Bilson revealed that she has been a huge fan of the ChapStick brand since she was much younger. As a mom and actress today, Bilson said that the brand of lip balm also suits her new lifestyle. “I am always on the go and I love that ChapStick fits my busy lifestyle and simplified beauty routine,” she said.

More specifically, “The O.C.” alum shared that she loves the Conditioning Lip Scrub from ChapStick since she uses it when she prepares for her kissing scenes. The actress added that her husband, Hayden Christensen, also likes the product. “I have an unending supply of lip balm, so he takes his fair share,” she said.
Meanwhile, Bilson shared that she’s been having such a blast on the set of “Nashville.” Despite being one of the new additions to the cast, the actress shared that her co-stars have been very welcoming. “It’s a lot of fun playing a role unlike anything else I’ve played before. Like my character, I’m really not familiar with country music, so it was really exciting to get a chance to try out something new,” she said.
But trying out something new doesn’t extend to Bilson’s look. The actress said that her role in the CMT series has not transformed her style that much. “I like to think my style carries over from location to location. I always go for comfy basics and may add a little flair depending on what I’m doing. If I still had a pair of cowboy boots I would probably rock them in ‘Nashville,’” she said.
Bilson was cast in the series earlier this year, but details about her Alyssa Greene role were only released in May. According to Deadline, she is a marketing expert who was brought into the pool to take Highway 65 to the next level. However, Alyssa is not a fan of country music, and she won’t sing in any of the upcoming episodes.
“Nashville” Season 5 airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. EDT on CMT.
