Natasha Lyonne has confirmed that she and her long-term boyfriend, actor Fred Armisen, broke up over a swimming pool.

The 43-year-old actress sat with The Hollywood Reporter for an interview, which was released Friday. When asked if she was based in LA, she responded, "I'm not. I had been there living with Fred (Armisen) and during COVID. I honestly think we broke up because I wanted a swimming pool."

"We love each other just about as much as two people can love each other and we're still talking all the time, but Freddy doesn't like a swimming pool," she added. "It might seem like a mundane reason for a breakup, but during that pandemic, you've got to get your laps — I'm like Burt Lancaster in The Swimmer."

Lyonne went on to reveal that she got herself a house in Los Angeles with a pool. "So, I got myself a house with a pool out in Los Angeles," she added. "So that's the real scandal. I guess I finally am an actual bicoastal."

Lyonne and Armisen, 55, first met via their mutual friend, actress Maya Rudolph, in 2001. They began dating in 2014 and made their first-ever red carpet appearance as a couple at Emmy Awards in 2015.

The actress will be next seen in the second season of "Russian Doll," which she also created. The said season is premiering on Netflix on Wednesday.

She will also lend her voice to the animated movie "DC League of Super-Pets," which is currently under pre-production and is expected to come out on July 29. Helmed by director Jared Stern, it will also feature the voices of other stars, such as Keanu Reeves, Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, John Krasinski and Diego Luna.

Armisen, on the other hand, has been a regular on the TV series "Big Mouth" since 2017. He will also voice Cranky Kong's character in Illumination Entertainment's untitled Super Mario project, which is still under pre-production.

Actress Natasha Lyonne's career was going quite well when she was arrested in 2001 and charged with driving under the influence. Alcohol problems would help hinder an acting career, but the actress is back on track, it seems. “Obviously, there are things I wouldn’t be capable of doing in my life today if that were not the case,” she said in a 2010 interview with New York Magazine. “I never thought I would act again.
