National Cleavage Day: Bra Maker Wonderbra Celebrates With Celebrity Hall of Fame [PHOTOS]
Friday, March 30, 2012 marks National Cleavage Day in the United Kingdom where our neighbors across the pond celebrate women's and celebrities' assets thanks to bra maker Wonderbra.
The annual holiday celebration held in March or April, conceived by Wonderbra, began in 2002 in South Africa as a way to raise awareness about women suffering from life-threatening blood diseases such as leukemia.
Today, it is celebrated annually to give women a chance to be beautiful and glow in the furtive, yet appreciative, glances their cleavage evokes from men, according to Anita Meiring, public relations consultant for Wonderbra, as reported by the Atlanta Journal Constitution.
On Friday in the UK, women strolled Oxford Street to celebrate National Cleavage Day to celebrate women's independence and power in their careers and relationships, according to The Sun, in line with the opening of a new Ann Summers store, which attracted a mob scene of males gawking and snapping photos.
National Cleavage Day is even celebrated in the U.S., according to OK! Magazine, Kim Kardashian is celebrating, though the magazine fails to attribute a quote or social media post to her alleged celebration.
This year, Wonderbra also released a list of the Celebrity Cleavage Hall of Fame, which the company calls a physical testimony to the best cleavages out there based on a survey from women in the UK.
