National Moon Day 2021: 10 Quotes By Neil Armstrong To Celebrate Landmark Mission
National Moon Day is marked annually on July 20 to commemorate the landmark mission when man first walked on the moon.
In 1969, Apollo 11 carried the first humans to the moon. Neil Armstrong was the first person to step onto the lunar surface. He spent two and a half hours outside the spacecraft. Buzz Aldrin soon followed, stepping onto the lunar surface. After joining Armstrong, the two men collected 47.5 pounds of lunar material. The pilot, Michael Collins, was in the orbit alone until Armstrong and Aldrin returned.
Here are some quotes by Armstrong, collected by Brainy Quote, to share on this day:
1. "I believe every human has a finite number of heartbeats. I don't intend to waste any of mine."
2. "Mystery creates wonder and wonder is the basis of man's desire to understand."
