On Wednesday, actress Naya Rivera was reported missing after taking a boat ride with her 4-year-old son, Josey Hollis Dorsey, in Lake Piru in Ventura County, California. The “Glee” star was “presumed dead” after the child was found alone on the boat and the search mission turned into a recovery mission as the day passed by.
Law enforcement authorities have been questioning Rivera’s son to know some important things about the disappearance of the actress and they learned that Rivera “never” made it to shore after taking a swim in the lake.
After talking to the actress’ son, the Ventura County Sheriff’s office told media reporters that the information given by Josey makes them believe that Rivera “never” made it back to shore.
“We have no indication after talking to her son that Ms. Rivera made it to shore. He gave enough information to conclude that his mother never made it back on board,” Page Six quoted Sgt. Kevin Donoghue, as saying.
Donoghue also noted that there were two “life jackets” found on the boat, one of which was worn by Josey while the other one was just there on the vessel. The police officer also shared that the star’s purse and ID were also recovered from the watercraft.
After the news about Rivera’s disappearance broke online, a plethora of celebrities came forward and shared their concern for Rivera and her son. Stars like Colleen Ballinger, Andy Cohen, Yvette Nicole Brown and more have reacted to the news that has completely stunned everyone.
Rivera started her career in 1991 with “The Royal Family.” Since then, she has made appearances on hit TV shows like “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” “Baywatch,” and “The Bernie Mac Show.” However, she is best known for her role as a high-school cheerleader named Santana Lopez on the hit TV show “Glee.”
The actress also published a memoir, entitled “Sorry Not Sorry: Dreams, Mistakes, and Growing Up,” in 2016.
Her last Instagram post was a picture of her and Josey, in which she can be seen embracing her son and planting a kiss on his face.
"Just the two of us," she captioned the picture.
